The Daxton Wilde Foundation
A group of college students founded the Daxton Wild Foundation for the purpose of spreading Daxton’s message: realize the hero within. Initially, the foundation sold copies of I’m a Super Hero and used the proceeds to print more copies, fund cancer research, and donate translated copies of I’m a Super Hero to children internationally. The foundation translated the book into Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Spanish; moreover, the foundation donated copies of the book to children’s hospitals in China and Guatemala. In March 2005, Gibb Smith Publisher approached the foundation with an offer to print and distribute I’m a Super Hero in bookstores throughout the Untied States.
Since March 2005, the Daxton Wilde Foundation has changed its focus to serving families more directly. In addition to providing information about cancer and links to other organizations, the foundation uses donations and grants to direct its Family Assistance Program. The foundation works with hospitals and doctors’ offices to identify and help children with cancer and their families by providing assistance to ease the financial burdens associated with treating cancer.
